These are plain-language terms. Have them checked by a lawyer in your country before relying on them.

Use at your own risk

Fathom changes, converts, encrypts, shreds, recovers and deletes files. It is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Keep backups of anything important. Fathom makes copies instead of editing originals by default, but you can choose otherwise, and some tools (the shredder, secure erase, drive tools, formatting) are permanent by design.

Your responsibility

• Use Fathom only on files and systems you own or have permission to use.
• The torrent client has no search for content. Only download and share what you have the right to.
• Signatures and stamps made with Fathom are pictures, not certified digital signatures.
• AI answers can be wrong. Check anything that matters, including text read from handwriting, translations and generated documents.
• The assistant can run programs on your computer when you approve it. Read what it asks before you say yes, and be careful with “Never ask” mode.

Third-party services and software

Fathom works with software and online services that belong to other people, each under its own license and terms (see licenses). You are responsible for your AI-service accounts, keys and costs.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the authors are not liable for lost data, damage or any indirect loss arising from use of Fathom.
